Terms and Conditions for PAT Testing Services (UK)

1. Definitions

Company: Kirklees PAT Testing Ltd, a provider of Portable Appliance Testing (PAT) services.

Client: The individual or business purchasing services from the Company.

Services: Inspection, testing, labeling, and reporting of electrical appliances in accordance with relevant UK regulations and guidance.

2. Scope of Services

The Company agrees to carry out PAT testing in accordance with the IET Code of Practice for In-Service Inspection and Testing of Electrical Equipment. The Services include visual inspection and, where appropriate, electrical testing of portable appliances.

3. Client Responsibilities

The Client agrees to:

Provide safe and reasonable access to all equipment to be tested.

Ensure that equipment is accessible, clean, and free from obstruction.

Inform the Company of any known faults or hazards prior to testing.

Provide a safe working environment in compliance with health and safety regulations.

4. Booking and Cancellation

Appointments must be agreed in advance.

The Company reserves the right to charge a cancellation fee if the Client cancels within 24 hours of the scheduled appointment.

The Company may reschedule services due to unforeseen circumstances.

5. Pricing and Payment

Prices will be agreed prior to commencement of Services.

Payment terms are [e.g., 14 days from invoice date] unless otherwise agreed.

6. Testing Limitations

PAT testing is not a guarantee of future safety or performance.

The Company is not responsible for faults that develop after testing.

Equipment that fails testing must not be used until repaired by a qualified professional.

The Company’s liability is limited to the value of the Services provided.

The Company shall not be liable for indirect, consequential, or business losses.

8. Damage and Loss

The Company will not be held liable for pre-existing damage.

Any damage caused during testing must be reported immediately.

9. Certification and Records

The Company will provide a report of tested appliances.

Labels will be affixed to tested equipment indicating pass or fail status.

10. Compliance

Services are carried out in accordance with:

Health and Safety at Work Act 1974

IET Code of Practice

11. Confidentiality

The Company will treat all Client information as confidential and will not disclose it to third parties without consent, except where required by law.

12. Termination

The Company reserves the right to terminate Services if:

The working environment is unsafe.

The Client breaches these Terms and Conditions.

13. Force Majeure

The Company shall not be liable for failure to perform Services due to events beyond its control, including but not limited to natural disasters, strikes, or government restrictions.

14. Governing Law

These Terms and Conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales.

15. Amendments

The Company reserves the right to update these Terms and Conditions at any time. Clients will be notified of any significant changes.
