Competitor Quote Match – Terms & Conditions
Last updated: August 2026
These terms and conditions apply to our Competitor Quote Match offer for Portable Appliance Testing (PAT) services.
1. Like-for-like quotes only
We will consider matching a genuine competitor quotation where the quotation is for like-for-like PAT testing services.
To qualify, the competitor quote must cover substantially the same:
- Number of appliances/items to be tested
- Type and scope of PAT testing
- Location(s) of the testing
- Testing methodology and service provided
- Reporting and certification
- Any other services specifically included within the competitor's quotation
We reserve the right to determine whether a competitor quotation is genuinely like-for-like.
2. Written quotation required
The competitor's price must be provided to us in writing and must clearly show:
- The competitor's business name
- The date of the quotation
- The services included
- The quantity/scope of PAT testing
- The total price
We may request a copy of the competitor's written quotation before agreeing to match the price.
3. Genuine and current quotations
The competitor quotation must be genuine, current and available to the customer at the time the price match is requested.
We will not match:
- Expired quotations
- Promotional or introductory offers
- Prices available only to specific customers or under special arrangements
- Quotes subject to undisclosed conditions
- Quotes from businesses that are not providing the same or substantially equivalent PAT testing service
- Quotes that contain obvious errors or omissions
4. Price comparison
Our price match applies to the total comparable price for the like-for-like PAT testing service.
Where applicable, VAT, travel charges, call-out charges, parking charges, access charges or other mandatory costs will be taken into account when comparing prices.
We will not be required to match a competitor's price where the competitor has excluded costs that we would reasonably need to charge to provide the equivalent service.
5. Additional services
The price match applies to PAT testing only.
Additional services, including but not limited to:
- Repairs
- Replacement plugs, fuses or leads
- Appliance replacements
- Remedial electrical work
- Emergency call-outs
- Additional visits
are not included in the price match unless specifically stated in the quotation.
6. Minimum requirements
The competitor quotation must relate to a legitimate commercial PAT testing service and must be capable of being verified by us.
We reserve the right to contact the competitor or otherwise verify the quotation where reasonably necessary.
7. Acceptance of a price match
A price match is not automatic.
All requests are subject to our approval and must be agreed before the customer accepts our quotation or the PAT testing work is carried out.
Once a price match has been agreed, the matched price will be confirmed in writing.
8. Availability and exclusions
We reserve the right to refuse a price match where:
- The competitor quotation is not genuinely like-for-like
- The scope of work is unclear
- The competitor's price cannot reasonably be verified
- The quotation contains errors
- Matching the price would result in an uneconomic or commercially unreasonable service
- The request falls outside the conditions of this offer
Our decision regarding whether a quotation qualifies as like-for-like will be final, subject to the customer's statutory rights.
9. Changes to the scope of work
The matched price is based on the information contained in the agreed quotation.
If the number of appliances, locations or scope of work changes after the price match has been agreed, we reserve the right to revise the price accordingly.
10. Customer responsibility
The customer is responsible for providing accurate information regarding the number of appliances, locations and requirements for the PAT testing service.
If the actual scope of work differs materially from the information provided when the quote was matched, the agreed price may be adjusted.
11. No cash alternative
The Competitor Quote Match offer has no cash alternative and cannot be exchanged for any other discount or benefit.
12. Statutory rights
Nothing in these terms and conditions affects or limits any rights the customer has under applicable UK consumer or other applicable law.
These terms are intended to operate alongside our standard terms and conditions of business.
